Marine electronics installation on Alaska fishing boat

Cook Inlet Saltwater.
Kenai River Freshwater.

Alaska's marine environment is among the most demanding on the planet. Saltwater corrosion, constant vibration from outboards, UV exposure during summer, and sub-freezing storage conditions destroy consumer electronics in one season. We only install marine-class components — nothing designed for cars or homes ends up in your boat.

  • Marine-class components with full saltwater ratings
  • Conformal-coated electronics that resist humidity and corrosion
  • Properly fused and relayed wiring — no fire risk in enclosed hulls
  • Garmin chartplotter installation with Alaska-specific lake/river charts
  • VHF radio with antenna placement for maximum range

Marine Audio &
Electronics Systems

Marine Speakers

JL Audio MX series, Kicker KM series — UV-resistant, saltwater-proof, rated for Alaska's freshwater and Cook Inlet saltwater conditions.

Marine Amplifiers

Sealed marine-class amplifiers with conformal coating on circuits. Heat, moisture, and vibration resistant for open water use.

Garmin Electronics

ECHOMAP UHD chartplotters, STRIKER Plus fishfinders, VHF radios, and AIS transponders installed and programmed for Alaska waters.

VHF Marine Radio

Fixed-mount VHF radio installation with proper antenna, DSC connection, and MMSI registration. Required for Alaska offshore fishing.

Subwoofers & Bass

Marine-grade subwoofers in sealed fiberglass enclosures custom-built for your vessel — built for Alaska's rough water without rattling apart.

Head Units & Source

Weatherproof Bluetooth head units with USB charging, satellite radio, and app control. Glove-friendly interfaces for on-the-water use.

A VHF radio is not optional on Cook Inlet. It's the difference between a call for help that gets answered and one that doesn't.

Alaska's commercial fishing and charter industry runs on reliable marine electronics. We install and program Garmin chartplotters, STRIKER fishfinders, and fixed-mount VHF radios with proper DSC and MMSI configuration. Every installation meets USCG requirements for the type of vessel and operating area.

FAQ

Do you install Garmin chartplotters for Alaska waters?
Yes — Garmin is our primary marine electronics brand. We install and program ECHOMAP UHD, GPSMAP, and STRIKER series units with BlueChart g3 charts that include Alaska's coastal waters, rivers, and lakes. We also integrate transducers for depth and temperature.
What's the difference between marine and car audio components?
Marine components have UV-stable speaker cones, sealed housings rated for water immersion, conformal-coated amplifier boards that resist salt and humidity, and corrosion-proof hardware. Car audio components use plastic that cracks from UV, paper cones that absorb moisture, and hardware that rusts in one saltwater season.
Do I need a VHF radio for Alaska fishing?
For any offshore or Cook Inlet fishing, a VHF radio is strongly recommended and required for commercial vessels. A fixed-mount VHF with DSC (Digital Selective Calling) allows single-button Mayday calls to the Coast Guard with your GPS coordinates automatically transmitted.
Can you install audio on a jet boat or flat-bottom river boat?
Yes. River boats present unique challenges — extreme vibration from jet drives, spray exposure, and limited mounting real estate. We've built audio systems on everything from 12-foot aluminum skiffs to 28-foot Wooldridge river sleds.
Do you service boats at a marina or do I bring it to your shop?
We service boats at our Anchorage shop. Trailerable boats can be brought in on the trailer. For larger vessels at a marina, contact us to discuss mobile installation options.
